C.A.T.C.H. 84 Foundation Host Financial Fitness Days for HS Student Athletes
Chris Chambers and the C.A.T.C.H. 84 Foundation hosted a day of financial education for a group of High School student athletes in Chris’ hometown of Cleveland in partnership with KeyBank.
The C.A.T.C.H. 84 Foundation invited students from Bedford, Collinwood, Central Catholic, Richmond Heights, Lincoln West, and New Day Academy to a day of Financial Fitness hosted by Key Bank specialists. Students went through two classes taught by Key Bank Financial Specialists. The courses covered during the Financial Fitness Day were “Check it Out” and “Charge it Right”, which covered topics such as the importance of utilizing back accounts and the importance of maintaining a good credit rating.
In addition to the courses covered during the day, Chris Chambers was on hand to interact with the students and share his personal experiences with financial issues. He spoke to all of the students about the importance of being fiscally responsible and how easy it is to become bankrupt even if you make a lot of money if you do not save it and act responsibly.
To help bring home the point, the C.A.T.C.H. 84 Foundation opened savings accounts for all the students who were 18 years old. This is a program hosted by Key Bank called, Cleveland Saves, which aims to teach young people the importance of maintaining savings accounts and learning how the accounts benefit customers. All students received t-shirts, a CATCH 84 calculator, and a CATCH 84 money clip.
